On July 15th, Signature Salon had the privilege of working alongside fellow volunteers with the Macon Outreach: Feed the Homeless Mission. A few ladies in our associate program volunteered to help out at the Mulberry Street Methodist Church where the Macon Outreach has a kitchen that prepares and serves over 15,000 hot, balanced meals every week. We were happy to partner with Steven Brewer’s accounting office to spend our Wednesday Morning volunteering in the kitchen. Tara, one of our Associate Stylists was asked to share her experience with our fans.
“Upon our arrival, the staff of volunteers was welcoming and kind. We washed our hands, put on our gloves and aprons, and went to work. We were also able to sit in and listen to their devotion and prayer service prior to lunch. It was amazing to see how thankful this diverse group of individuals was. There was a bottomless pit of respect from everyone. I noticed that one woman was serving food and then came to get in line to receive her plate. To see someone involved on both sides shows a lot about how involved Macon Outreach stays in the lives of those in need. I think it’s safe to say that we all had a humbling and fulfilling experience. I hope to devote more time to ensure this mission can continue on, helping our fellow Maconites.”
